All flight schools make promises.  You’re right to be asking yourself, “what makes this school different from the others” when exploring something as significant as pursuing flight training.  At Waco Flight Training, we have two core philosophies:

Full Utility:

We want to teach you how to achieve full utility with your pilot’s license and airplane.  We’ll venture away from the two-mile runways that many people associate with aviation and teach you how to land and out-of-the-way grass airstrips.  We’ll put you in charge of the agenda for your cross-country flight planning:  no canned flight plans here!  We’ll employ scenario-based exercises to stretch your decision-making abilities. 

In short, we strive to make you not just competent, but comfortable with all phases of operation.  You’ll get more utility and more FUN out of your flying this way.  You will truly be “pilot in command.”

Aviation Educators:

We opened Waco Flight Training in order to train students.  Sound intuitive?  It should, but the fact of the matter is that working as a flight instructor is considered by most to be an “entry-level” position in the aviation industry. 

We seek instructors who want to be educators first.  Our chief instructor actually holds a master’s degree in that field.  With instructors who have roots in the Waco area and genuinely want to teach you, you won’t have to worry about airline interviews cancelling lessons, or the flight student’s worst fear, losing your instructor halfway through your training. 

While a broad curriculum defines every flight training program, our instructors don’t employ a “cookie cutter” approach to flight instruction.  Every student is different, and our instructors creatively work to find an approach that best enhances the learning of every student we fly with.
